‘Sorcery’ is the story of a mystical experience that happened to me whilst sitting by the fire alone on the hill.

I was having a very deep, meditative moment with my eyes closed and when I opened them, there was a feeling of a presence around me. The circular fire pit was changing shape, everything else had an aura around it like the Ready Brek man and some ‘things’ flew out of the night past me at high speed. It was a powerful and slightly scary moment as if magic was happening before my eyes and all around me.

The first half of the track represents the dreamlike, trance state that I was in before awakening. Spiraling Harps and French horns call and respond to each other whilst shamanic voices cry out to the fire. Simple drums, hypnotic bass and melody are joined by mystic north African strings, building to an infectious breakbeat drop.

The introspective outro leaves you contemplating what it is you’ve just experienced.

The strings were originally written on the hill circa 2014 and I completed the track this year.
