‘Max Branning on Drugs’ was originally entitled ‘Wales weird trip’ and was written the day after a truly bizarre night on the hill in 2012.

I’d had a curry before we took the shrooms and all I could see when I closed my eyes was a washing machine with fire inside it. After a while, I realised that this represented my stomach which was in agony from the mixture of spices and mushroom tea.

The whole night was crazy. Evil faces flying through the night giving me the Vs, the spirit of a Scottish fisher woman in the bog. All manner of insanity was in the air that night.

The twisted synths, off key beats and juxtaposition between frantic and calm represent the unnerving, edgy time that was had. Rumbling, warped bass lines disorientate you, sinister seagull cries and needle like synth stabs lead you to uneasy moments of calm before throwing you back into the unpredictable madness.

The samples are from EastEnders and seemed apt for the track and are quite comical.
